Recommended Viscosity's

- RS 10W-40 (For all UTV's)

- BREAK-IN 10W-30 (New engine, first 100 miles)

Why we use Maxima

We can tell you from years of testing oils in UTVs. These engine platforms lead a hard life of high sustained RPM and extreme constant load. We have found the number one contributor to bearing failures is the breakdown of the engine oil from fuel contaminants in the crankcase. High sustained RPM and loads create excessive crankcase blowby which leads to fuel contaminants migrating to your crankcase and then into your oil. If you own a SxS you know how fast your oil turns black this is generally from fuel in the oil. UTVs generally do not hold much oil so the breakdown of the oil can happen very quick.

Now let’s talk about why Maxima oils are different than other brands. What sets them apart is how well this oil holds up to contamination and heat. When oil breaks down it becomes abrasive and looses its lubricity, when this happens you will start seeing excessive bearing wear or failure. We have found from extensive testing of many oils the Maxima oil clearly has the best results. After building 100+ race motors with many different oils being used we see a clear pattern to which engines have the least amount of bearing wear.

We recommend using the RS 10W-40 engine oil in all the UTV/SxS applications. Granted this is not a UTV specific oil we have found it to be the best option.

New engines we recommend Break-In 10W-30 oil for the first 100 miles
